This year, these queens of capitalism broke records as their combined fortunes soared by nearly one-fourth, reaching $154 billion. The number of self-made women billionaires hit a record 31, up from 24 last year. Among the 11 newcomers in the list are singer Katy Perry and Uncle Nearest whiskey cofounder Fawn Weaver.
Diane Hendricks, the richest woman for the seventh year in a row, is worth a record $20.9 billion. She owns ABC Supply, the nation’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing supplies, which she cofounded with her husband Kenneth in 1982. Revenue has grown from $2.6 billion in 2007 to $20.4 billion in 2023.
Judy Love, co-founder of Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores, holds the second spot with $11.6 billion. Founded in 1964 with her husband, the chain now boasts over 500 locations. Followed by Judy Faulkner, founder of Epic Systems, a leading healthcare software company, is valued at $7.6 billion, placing her third.
