Is Chris Noth Harvey Weinstein? Off with his head?

I have no idea if Noth is innocent or guilty of something? The only info we have is two anonymous women, who refuse to reveal their identities and apparently never brought the 2004 or 2015 incidents to the authorities now have the ability to swifty cancel a successful career.

If Noth did something, the women should come forward, demand a full police investigation and the actor should remain free to work until there is some hard evidence that he's guilty. Then again, the pillar of our criminal justice system is "your guilty until proven innocent"?

How about Weinstein you say? Not remotely similar. For years, he used his clout to intimidate a whole industry into looking the other way. Is Noth in the same position? I doubt it. Not saying there isn't the possibility of wrong doing, I am saying it's time to let the criminal justice system do its job. Not the arena of public opinion which is no good substitute.

Chris Noth Dropped From ‘The Equalizer’ After Misconduct Accusations

Actor’s ouster from CBS show comes after Peloton pulled ad featuring him playing Mr. Big from ‘Sex and the City’ reboot; talent agency also drops him

Chris Noth has been dropped from the CBS VIAC +2.54% television show “The Equalizer” and will no longer film any new episodes, the network said, adding to fallout from sexual-assault accusations that have been made against him.

Mr. Noth had been a recurring cast member on “The Equalizer” since its debut in February, playing a former CIA agent opposite actress and rapper Queen Latifah. A second season started this fall. A CBS spokeswoman said Mr. Noth would appear in one new episode that hasn’t aired yet as well as in reruns. She declined to comment further.

An article published last week in the Hollywood Reporter quoted two anonymous women who accused Mr. Noth of sexual assault.

A spokeswoman for Mr. Noth didn’t comment Tuesday on his role in “The Equalizer” but referred to an earlier statement in which the actor denied the accusations in the Hollywood Reporter.

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” he said in the statement. “These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago—no always means no—that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

Actress and director Zoe Lister-Jones has also accused Mr. Noth of misconduct. “I couldn’t separate the actor from the man, and the man is a sexual predator,” she said in an Instagram post.

Responding to Ms. Lister-Jones’s remarks, a spokesman for Mr. Noth said Tuesday, “This is a desperate attempt to insert herself into the narrative.”

Fallout from the accusations has been swift.

Peloton Interactive Inc. last week pulled a viral ad featuring Mr. Noth that was created in response to a scene in “And Just Like That…,” the “Sex and the City” reboot, in which his character, Mr. Big, dies after a 45-minute ride on a Peloton bike. The exercise-equipment maker said it wasn’t aware of the accusations when it filmed the ad.

A talent agency, A3 Artists Agency, also cut ties with Mr. Noth, a spokesman said Friday.

On Monday, Mr. Noth’s longtime “Sex and the City” co-stars— Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis —posted a joint statement to their social-media accounts saying they were deeply saddened by the accusations.

“We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences,” the statement said. “We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
