Should we pay people not to work? Or provide incentives not to work?
Personally, I have a ton of interest in spending money on inner city Charter Schools which have great track records preparing the economically disadvantages to enter the workforce &/or attend college/vocational training programs.
Are there some people who need a safety net who can't work...absolutely, but that number is statistically low. For the majority of people, isn't the best "gift" to help folks help themselves?
Am I excited that big city resources are being directed towards new illegal migrants, not legal underprivileged citizens who could use schooling/training/support? NO! Chicago, for example, expects to spend $300 million this year on new illegals.
