Trump: Iconic American Defiance and Strength

The once and future President Donald John Trump has made the gesture before, pumping his closed fist in the air to exhort a crowd.
The other evening in Pennsylvania, he made that fist pumping gesture again. But this time there was blood on his face. He got up to his feet, bleeding from the assassin’s bullet, and stood strong with the American flag behind him.
The “phrase iconic photo” doesn’t do it justice.
And though he’d been shot, he wanted to assure the crowd–and foreign adversaries–that he was OK. I was watching on TV as were many of you, and I’m certain I wasn’t the only one thinking about two simple words:
Certified Badass.
It was inspiring, stirring and emotional. It was a message for all the forgotten to stand up and fight.
Only days before, the perpetually Trump Deranged Left had been whipping Democrats into a bloodthirsty frenzy, comparing Trump to Hitler and insisting if Trump was elected, democracy and the nation would end.
According to Politico, on a fundraising call to donors, Biden said: “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate. It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”
Bullseye?
Shortly after the assassin’s bullet came within a millimeter of killing him, Trump posted out the iconic photo—taken by Doug Mills of the New York Times–on X.
“Hardest picture of all time” Trump wrote. After being shot, he hit the ground with U.S. Secret Service agents swarming on top of him.
And then he stood up and to show the crowd he was OK. He pumped his fist again and again saying “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
The crowd began shouting “USA! USA! USA!”
And right then I knew—as did most of you—that the world had changed forever. The presidential political campaign had changed forever. He was alive. Yes, the assassin’s bullet took off a piece of his ear. But he was alive and fighting. He got up from the ground after being shot and was determined to fight.
What kind of man is this Certified Badass?
Incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden talks and talks about getting up off the ground to fight.
But Biden is the yammering of old man at the end of the bar, shouting in his cartoon Cmdr. McBragg fabulist voice that no one even listens to any longer.
Trump haters—Democrats and the Trump Hating Never Trump Republicans who promote with what historian Victor Davis Hanson calls “assassination porn”– were silent.
Finally. But only for a few moments. And soon they were at it again, throwing gasoline on a fire.

Now that Trump survived the assassination, the Democrats took a pause, and said they were all about lowering the temperature. But then they pounced with vengeance.
These include Biden of course, and the shrill ABC personality Martha Raddatz; Rachel Maddow of MSNBC—the mad Madame DeFarge of leftist journalism—and those flesh-eating mares of Diomedes on “The View.”
Remember that just days before the assassination attempt, the perpetually Trump Deranged had been whipping the Democrat left into a bloodthirsty frenzy, comparing Trump to Hitler and insisting if Trump was elected, democracy would end.
Their prayers to darkness were heard by a madman, just as their prayers were heard when another left-wing Democrat madman tried to massacre Republicans who were playing baseball in a park. And the leftist media not only pressed Americans to forgive, but to forget, and stuff the carnage into a memory hole, and move on. But some of us remember.
My friend, fellow conservative Dan Proft, argues that we must be wary of those who would seed moral confusion.
“The problem is many high-profile pols and their festooned coteries of pundits and propagandists spent years rationalizing, condoning and even promoting political violence against those they now patronizingly call on to be calm,” Proft wrote on X. “Their false pieties only fan the flames.”
Consider the muted tones Democrats are pretending to use now, all their faux concern.
Americans might want to remind themselves on how Biden invoked the imagery of blood and death to smear all Republicans and the 75 million Americans who voted for Trump in 2020.
All the issues are against Biden and the Democrats, from ravenous inflation eating our savings and wages to at least 15 million illegal migrants–single men of military age from nations that hate America.
They’ve spent years spreading irrational hate, portraying Make America Great Again, Trump and most Republicans as Hitler, as racists, as fascists.
For years they participated in a Deep Stare coup process to hamstring Trump, take his money and destroy his companies, promote his ouster, rig the 2020 election through mail-in ballot scams, judiciously spending $400 million in Zuckerbucks, and using political trials in a bid to jail him for life and ensure he cannot run for office. And all of this in the name of the “Democracy” they undermine and mock by very their actions.
And now he’s been shot.
But if desperate Biden and the Democrats, and all their corporate media stooges can’t rely on their Trump as-Hitler tropes, what do they have left to campaign on?
Nothing.
Do they apologize for bringing the country to unthinkable bloodshed?
No.
Does the left ever admit wrongdoing?
No.
But Trump has selected my favorite pick, populist conservative Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his vice-presidential nominee.
Vance grew up poor in Appalachia. He’s a U.S. Marine, a father and the author of a great book, “Hillbilly Elegy”
The left hates this man, because they’re desperate and afraid that the media lies won’t work anymore.
I’m all for burying the rhetorical tomahawks, and not in the back of leftists.
These are still our countrymen, our sisters and our brothers, And even though we are surrounded by enemies and adversaries who would do us harm, most of us yearn for national unity, and purpose. But America can’t have true national unity if it’s based on lies and the political lies of omission. Then it’s not unity. Then it’s just manipulation.
We forget everything in America. We’ve been trained that way, to forget and move on. Forgetting makes things easier, I guess. Forgetting makes it easier to turn a profit.
But elephants don’t forget. Trump doesn’t forget. He was almost murdered because the left fears his politics and stokes hate. And I don’t forget, and I can’t forgive.
