Talk about having your mind bent! First off, Oppenheimer is not simply a good movie, it's an important one. One every American should see. Scrap that every Earthling should see.
It operates seamlessly on multiple levels, and manages to be spellbinding, hugely entertaining, and profoundly thought-provoking. It's a story about human frailty, genius, greed, government corruption, science run amok...I need to lie down. It also places the risk of nuclear war back where it belongs in everyone's consciousness.
BTW, why are we poking the Bear? Why don't we immediately sit down with Putin and negotiate an end to this thing? Hard to think otherwise after watching this movie.
Then there were the 20 minutes of movie trailers we got to sit through. Exorcist II, Saw X, Unleash your powers, Five Nights at Freedy's, Expend4bles, the Kill room.
In 2019, Martin Scorsese during an interview trashed the current movie industry for putting out comic book-type movies for 8-year-olds. Describing movies set in a fantasyland where the destruction of things & people is glorified and special effects are more important than story or character development. I guess the movie industry is content putting out the same mind-numbing bullsheet content that you get on social media or by mainlining Opioids.
It makes Christopher Nolan's masterwork (Oppy's director) even more impressive and important.
