So who dominated radio in the 1970s?

Not exactly how I remembered it.

  • Recap: the early 60s were owned by Elvis. Then in 1964 the Beatles showed up and Elvis basically disappeared from the charts.

  • In the 70s Elton kicked ass and the other dominant player was...drum roll...Abba? WTF! Paul McCartney stayed strong (as the Beatles disbanded). The Carpenters were a force as well (I need to throw up). Then came the Disco craze at the end of the decade and the Bee Gees.

  • The Eagles, Clapton, CCR, Jefferson Starship, Steely Dan...all the stuff I loved. Not really atop the charts then. Eckkkk
