Not exactly how I remembered it.
Recap: the early 60s were owned by Elvis. Then in 1964 the Beatles showed up and Elvis basically disappeared from the charts.
In the 70s Elton kicked ass and the other dominant player was...drum roll...Abba? WTF! Paul McCartney stayed strong (as the Beatles disbanded). The Carpenters were a force as well (I need to throw up). Then came the Disco craze at the end of the decade and the Bee Gees.
The Eagles, Clapton, CCR, Jefferson Starship, Steely Dan...all the stuff I loved. Not really atop the charts then. Eckkkk
