Why do sequels look so visually different now?

There are three things that have f-cked up the movie industry: 1. Too much content and too few good screenwriters. Dumbed-down scripts and storylines. Comic book crap for adults. 2. Movies feature special effects and CGI ahead of great storytelling and dialog. 3. The switch from film video cameras to full digital has for the most part, yielded boring, uninspired videography.
