Between 2016 & 2020 if you attempted to sneak in you were returned to Mexico while awaiting trial. So people quit trying.

Then after announcing we're opening the "welcome" wagon and allowing folks to stay in the US while awaiting trial (which now takes over 24 months) they...well you know the rest. Will they show up for trials...sure they will.
