What's "funny" about these cities?
Nothing. You think murder is a laughing matter! What's wrong with you? And don't get me started about the CDC, they put Virginia Beach on the list twice. Whose proof-reading over there? I'll tell you what's funny (if you insist)? Every one of these is run by a Democrat Mayor. Except Virginia Beach. Does this mean Democrats do a poor job combating crime? Not neccessarily, it means the people who elect them apparently don't want to try something different. The good news is C

Does the cost in incarcerate people vary by state? One map.
You're probably wondering why the cost to imprison people is $307,000 in Mass versus $31,000 in Texas. Actually most of the South Eastern states are cheap. Mass has about 7,000 people in the big house, vs 130,000 in Texas. I love it! Plus the cost of living for prison employees is sky high in Mass. And their prisons have more services to h

Notice something odd. Homeless people are typically concentrated statistically in more temperate climates yet New York's rate is much higher than Florida. I fired up Claud AI to examine this below. A new elephant in the room is often housing cost. Places which are more expensive to find affordably housing create a larger homeless population. Florida has a significantly lower homeless rate than New York despite both having major cities and warm weather (at least in Florida's
