Many Dems take the position that requiring voter ID is racist or an attempt to sideline minorities. On the other hand, is the chart below correct? Are the Dems FOS on this issue?

Reached out to Claude Ai for some additional context below. The short answer is most representative democracies require an id (or an id to initially register).

Countries without voter ID requirements at polling places:

New Zealand - Voters don't need to show ID when voting. They simply confirm their name and sometimes address and occupation, then are marked off the electoral roll. Easy-vote cards are mailed out to speed up the process, but they're not mandatory.

Australia - Unlike most other countries, Australia does not require citizens to provide proof of their identities before they vote State Library of New South Wales. Voters simply state their name and address at the polling station to be marked off the roll. However, photo ID is required to register to vote initially.

United Kingdom (with important caveats) - Photographic identification is mandatory to vote in elections in Northern Ireland, and in the rest of the United Kingdom since 2023 Wikipedia. So the UK recently moved to requiring photo ID, though Scottish government and council elections still don't require it.

Denmark - Mentioned as another country with loose voter ID rules, similar to Australia and New Zealand.

Countries with voter ID requirements at polling places:However, it's worth noting that of 47 nations surveyed in Europe, all but one country requires a government-issued photo voter ID to vote Daily Signal. The global trend has been moving toward stricter ID requirements rather than away from them. Among developed countries, this list of exceptions is quite short and getting shorter.
