No big deal. We'll take our a couple of electrical generation plants and be right as rain. It's time to load up the buckshot.

Iran’s Military Says Strait Is Closed Again, Prompting Ships to Turn Back

Announcement adds to confusion over waterway after U.S. and Iran declared it open less than a day earlier

Iran's military said the Strait of Hormuz has “returned to its previous state” less than a day after the U.S. and the Iranian government declared it open. The announcement Saturday prompted ships waiting to cross the strategic waterway to turn back.

A trickle of vessels had transited the strait in the morning, before Iran’s military said it remains under the “strict management and control of the armed forces” and will remain so until the U.S. lifts its blockade of Iranian ports.

Iran’s foreign minister announced Friday that Hormuz was open following the start of a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon, a declaration quickly echoed by President Trump. But Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps insisted it would decide which vessels could make the transit, a sign the Iranian regime was divided over the government’s concession to U.S. demands.

Trump played down any significant differences between the U.S. and Iran in striking a deal to end the war.

The president also said the U.S. could work with Iran to remove the country’s enriched uranium. Iran rejected that claim.

As the new cease-fire in Lebanon held, Trump said Israel would no longer bomb Lebanon, a condition Tehran had sought before the U.S.-Iran talks could restart.

Talks between the two sides could take place on Monday in Pakistan, said a senior Trump administration official. Iran cast doubt on the possible success of any talks.
