From the skewering he's received in the mainstream press you'd certainly think so. VDH explains the opposite is likely true.
Hegseth has accomplished two important milestones:
For the first time the armed forces have met their recruiting goals. This was a disaster during Biden. Nobody wanted to join the military. How he fixed this is fascinating and required some good old common sense.
For years, the military did most of it's weapons procurement with large suppliers, like McDonald Douglas, purchasing massive weapons systems with billion dollar price tags. That's changing. We're becoming a more intelligent purchaser and buying better more cost effective weapons systems.
Do I agree with everything he's doing or our ramp up in military spending? No! But compared to the village idiots that preceeding him I think he may be a breath of fresh air.
