Is the evolution of avalanche mitigation in Utah good?

For decades Alta used military artillery to blast for avalanches. Then the US gov decided that was too dangerous. What a bunch of pussies.

The resort recently was forced to install 14 Wyssen towers instead which remotely deploy explosives. Each of these towers is estimated to cost approx $430,000 including installation using helicopters. So that's $6 million up in smoke.

Of course these towers need to be regularly filled with explosives. That's not cheap!

I'm not happy!
