BTW, most states spend about half their income tax budget on public education. So for all you Illinois residents who get smashed with sky-high RE taxes that fund your schools, you also get to pay again with state income tax. Congratulations.
BTW, Laffer points out that states that have high-income taxes grow slower, and provide fewer job ops then those that don't. They also get less net tax revenue over time because businesses move to low-tax states.
