Her original story was she was sexual assaulted and received no outside money to sue Lord Voldemort. She now claims, her memory wasn't clear...she now recollects she received $7 million (from someone who loves the Dark Lord).
Is she lying about being raped? Is Voldemort? Who knows. Did she deserve to win the civil suit? That's a tough call. What's for sure? The Justice Dept is coming after her and the Dark Lord doesn't forgive or forget.
Here are some facts(Claude):
Carroll's Own Testimony
Carroll testified that she crossed paths with Trump at the revolving door of Bergdorf Goodman on a Thursday evening in spring 1996. She said he asked her advice about selecting a gift for a woman, and she went along, thinking the experience would be funny. They ended up in the lingerie department and eventually in a dressing room, where she says the assault occurred. Carroll testified that she kneed Trump before fleeing. NPRjustia
"Outcry" Witnesses
Carroll presented testimony from two "outcry" witnesses — friends she told about the incident shortly after it happened. She told these two friends and then remained silent until she released her memoir years later. FindLawjustia
Other Women Who Alleged Similar Conduct
Two other women who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Trump testified, as the judge allowed this prior-acts evidence. FindLaw
The Access Hollywood Video and Trump's Deposition
The so-called Access Hollywood video was also entered into evidence, along with Trump's own comments about that video during his deposition, which the court described as "remarkable." FindLaw
Trump's Absence
Trump did not testify during the trial, which meant the jury heard Carroll's account without rebuttal from Trump himself on the stand. justia
