Jessica Alba is getting split opinions from the internet in response to her Halloween costume.
The actress, 45, shared photos to social media on Nov. 1, including Instagram, of her Halloween costume. The photos show her dressed as figure skater Nancy Kerrigan at the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Kelly Sawyer, co-CEO of Baby2Baby, dressed as fellow figure skater Tonya Harding. In the photos, Alba wears a bloody wrap around her knee, and Sawyer carries a bat.
At the 1994 competition, Kerrigan was clubbed on the knee by an assailant, and authorities later determined that Harding was involved and that her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, had allegedly hired the attacker. It led to Harding eventually being banned from the sport.

After Alba shared the photos of her costume — for Vas J Morgan and Michael Braun’s Halloween Party, which had a “Hockey Horror” theme — Instagram comments immediately split on their opinions. Us Weekly noted that before the Instagram was deleted, some commenters called the actress “immature” for the getup.
However, some Redditors have called out the overreaction to the looks, with one calling the sensitivity “exhausting and lame.” Others pointed out the holiday is about dressing up, and people get too easily “offended” by some costumes.

Alba’s photos are still posted on her Threads account, where most of the comments are telling the Honey star that they like the costumes. A handful, however, have called out that it’s in poor taste to make light of a real person’s tragedy.

In previous years, Alba has shown off her Halloween costume on social media as well. In 2024, she dressed as Coraline, complete with blue wig. Her ex-husband Cash Warren and their son Hayes, now 8, wore matching Beetlejuice costumes, which she showed off in her photo carousel.
The Halloween crew took pictures on their lawn surrounded by fun Halloween decor. “Coraline and Beetlejuice walk into a bar… Happy Halloween 💛👻🖤,” she captioned her post.
Hayes made an appearance in Alba’s new photoset this year, dressed as a vampire. She is also mom to Honor, 18, and Haven, 15.
