For two grueling weeks I operated out of a Humvee, manning two 50-caliber machine guns. Sleep? Are you kidding? You sleep, you get overrun.
It was a scary, thrilling, packed action ride with my cover almost blown numerous times. To the outside world, I was staying at the Lowes Ventura Canyon Resort (Tucson). In reality, I was three clicks from the US/Mexico border directly outside of Nogales.
Did I mention they sell really cheap fireworks down there?
Dawn patrol. Anything that moves gets shot. And I don't mean once.

I had special infrared glasses to avoid running into these vicious Chollas.

Why in the wide world of sports are there mountains at the border. Nobody mentioned that?
