The idea of Donald again is repugnant. The Dems seem to be pushing all the right levers. Border, Joe's cognitive state, Hunter's overseas escapades, the Trump indictments. Oh, I forgot to mention imploding major cities that have lost their working populations (result of COVID) but not their crime problems.
Sadly, no one other than that idiot can gain traction.
Voters Prioritize Border Security Over Ukraine War

By a 2-to-1 margin, voters believe controlling the U.S. border is more important than helping Ukraine fight Russia.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 60% of Likely U.S. voters believe getting the migrant crisis at the U.S. border under control is more important for America’s national security, while 30% say supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia is more important. Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters think the current situation with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border is a crisis, while 24% say it’s not and another 11% are not sure. These findings are essentially unchanged since May.
Forty-five percent (45%) trust Republicans more to handle national security issues. Forty-two percent (42%) trust Democrats more and 13% are undecided. These findings are almost identical to April.

As might be expected, 81% of Republicans and 79% of Democrats trust their own party more to handle national security. Among unaffiliated voters, the GOP has a 11-point advantage, as 42% trust Republicans more and 31% trust Democrats more to deal with issues of national security.
Majorities of every political category – 84% of Republicans, 51% of Democrats and 60% of unaffiliated voters – say the current situation with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border is a crisis.
Solid majorities of both Republicans (79%) and unaffiliated voters (60%) believe getting the migrant crisis at the U.S. border under control is more important for America’s national security. Democrats are more divided, with 45% saying it’s more important to Ukraine in its war against Russia, while 42% think getting the U.S. border under control is more important for national security.
There isn’t much of a “gender gap” on these issues, although men (48%) are more likely than women voters (42%) to trust Republicans more to handle national security issues.
Majorities of every racial group – 56% of whites, 65% of black voters and 68% of other minorities – say that controlling the migrant crisis at the U.S. border is more important for national security. Black voters are more likely than others to trust Democrats to handle issues related to national security.
Voters under 40 are less likely than their elders to view the U.S.-Mexico border situation as a crisis, and also more likely to trust Democrats on national security.
Government employees (55%) are more likely than either private sector workers (44%) or retirees (40%) to trust Democrats more to handle national security.
Breaking down the electorate by income categories, 49% of voters in the highest bracket – earning more than $200,000 a year – don’t think the current migrant situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is a crisis, while overwhelming majorities of those with annual incomes below $100,000 say it is a crisis.
President Joe Biden’s strongest supporters place the highest priority on defending Ukraine. Among voters who Strongly Approve of Biden’s job performance as president, 72% believe supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia is more important for America’s national security, and just 21% say getting the migrant crisis at the U.S. border under control is more important. By contrast, among those who Strongly Disapprove of Biden’s performance, 93% think securing the U.S. border is more important.
Many voters – including more than a third of Democrats – want California Gov. Gavin Newsom to challenge President Biden for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination.
Nearly half of voters rate Biden as doing a poor job on immigration, an issue where the Republican Party maintains a strong advantage.
