Rick's spot on. Boring...the new stuff is ...sorry ...forgettable. I didn't feel that way about my father's music. Loved big band, Be Bop...all sorts of Jazz, and of course Frank.
What "old" music looks like? The number of innovative groups during "our" era was too numerous to mention. Can you imagine a top-performing "influencer" laying it down like Ian (Tull) nowadays? Being their own fricken crazy self...no over produced boring bullsheet?
Sure there are tons of great folks trying to break through but the masses would rather listen to Taylor Swift.
