Does Bad Bunny get sued frequently?

Apparently he likes to use voices and infringe on occasion. That is with people who like to inflate claims, some of whom are unhappy ex girlfriend.


I think his greatest indiscretion however is his music. Sad the public will be forced to suffer through such during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.


Lawsuits Where Bad Bunny is a Defendant

Voice Recording Disputes


Recent $16 Million Lawsuit (January 2026) Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera filed a lawsuit claiming her voice appears in Bad Bunny's songs "Solo de Mi" from X 100pre (2018) and "EoO" from Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025), seeking $16 million for privacy and publicity rights violations Rolling StoneMusic Business Worldwide. She claims she recorded the phrase at the request of producer Roberto Rosado when they were theater students but never gave permission for commercial use.


Ex-Girlfriend Lawsuit ($40 Million, 2023) In 2023, Bad Bunny's ex-girlfriend Carliz de La Cruz Hernández sued him for $40 million, claiming she provided a voice recording with the phrase "Bad Bunny, baby" that was used in multiple songs, live performances, and advertisements without her consent San Francisco Chronicle. This case is still pending.

Steely & Clevie "Dembow Riddim" Lawsuit (2021-ongoing) Jamaican producers Cleveland Browne and Wycliffe Johnson's estate filed a massive lawsuit alleging over 1,000 reggaeton songs, including tracks by Bad Bunny, illegally used the drum pattern from their 1989 track "Fish Market" VarietyCourthouse News Service. Bad Bunny is accused in the lawsuit for 77 songs CNN. A federal judge recently heard arguments on cross-motions for summary judgment, with a ruling expected by the end of January Courthouse News Service.


Nigerian Artist Dera Lawsuit (May 2025) Nigerian artist Dera filed a lawsuit alleging unauthorized use of a sample from his 2019 song "Empty My Pocket" in Bad Bunny's 2022 track "Enséñame a Bailar" from the album Un Verano Sin Ti Parriva.


AOM Music Lawsuit - "Safaera" (2020) In 2020, Bad Bunny and collaborators were sued by AOM Music, Inc. for alleged unauthorized use of samples from DJ Playero's mixtapes in the song "Safaera" Parriva. The track was temporarily removed from streaming platforms during the dispute.


Property Rights Lawsuit

"La Casita" Homeowner Lawsuit ($6 Million, September 2025) A homeowner claims Bad Bunny featured his salmon-colored home in the short film "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" and recreated it as a life-sized replica stage for 30 concerts, alleging he received only $5,200 and that his home became a daily tourist destination that violated his privacy Lewitt HackmanAll About Lawyer. The lawsuit claims unjust enrichment.

Rimas Sports MLBPA Dispute (2024-2025)

Bad Bunny's sports representation firm Rimas Sports faced disciplinary actions from the Major League Baseball Players Association for alleged violations, including offering improper inducements to players like a $200,000 interest-free loan and a $19,500 gift ESPNESPN. The union issued a $400,000 fine and suspended three executives ESPN. The MLBPA and Rimas Sports filed an agreement in March 2025 to dismiss the lawsuit they had filed against each other ESPN.


Lawsuits Where Bad Bunny is a Plaintiff

Fan Concert Footage Lawsuit (March 2024) Bad Bunny filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Eric Guillermo Madroñal Garrone, who posted high-quality videos of 10 full songs from his Salt Lake City concert on February 21, 2024 to YouTube, seeking up to $150,000 per video AxiosBillboard. The lawsuit was withdrawn in April 2024 after the infringing videos were removed from YouTube FOX 13.

The most significant ongoing litigation appears to be the Steely & Clevie dembow riddim case, which could have industry-wide implications for reggaeton if the plaintiffs prevail, and the voice recording lawsuits, which raise questions about informal recording practices in the early stages of artists' careers.
