Musk has launched over 10,000 satellites of which 9.350 are currently operating as part of it's network. In fact, the company owns 65% of all satellites currently in orbit.

Thus far, Starlink, the internet service which relies on these satellites to provide users wifi anywhere on the globe has approx 9 million customers. Comcast by comparison has about 30 million customers.

One important difference is SpaceX has a mountain of excess capacity on this network. Their only using about 3-4% of their bandwidth, which means they can keep bringing on customers without significantly increasing operating costs. Projections indicate they may have between 15-20 million customers by the end of 2026.

Comparison of monthly cost for 350MB service:

Comcast: $55/month

Starlink: $120/month plus $349 equipment cost (one time)
