Was the price of oil higher during Biden or now? WTF?

During the Biden Administration oil peaked at $130/barrel. This afternoon? $85/barrel. Hey wait the f-ck a minute! What's going on here?

A few things those turban headed camel riding idiots running Iran* didn't count on. First, the closing of the Strait of Hormuz temporarily shut down about 20 million barrels per day. Iran figured there was no way around that. Wrong! Several factors have kept oil prices in check.

  • China's daily production of oil has dropped about 5 million barrels/day.

  • Saudi Arabia and UAE have ancillary pipelines that have diverted their oil production to other bodies of water. 6 million barrels per day.

  • The US has expanded oil production and used it's strategic reserves.

  • Russia is shipping more oil

So Iran's calculus (playing footsie with the Straits) hasn't worked. Actually, the US is blocking Iran's ability to ship their own oil (killing their economy while we bomb the shit out of them).

Plus Voldemort isn't inclined to blink. So long as he holds the Senate (midterms) he can't be removed from office. That's assured. So he'll likely continue to shove it where the sun don't shine.

Eventually, Iran's rulers will choose becoming wildly wealthy over getting bombed and watching their economy implode. And we'll control the world's oil market. Is that fair? I don't care to ponder that.

*I'd like to apologize to people who wear turbans and ride camels. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
