Zeihan: Need we worry about China overtaking us in AI?

Good discussion. Essentially, China currently can't get the highly sophisticated small nano chips that power massive data centers. That explains why their AI models use between 6-8 times the power that US chatbots use...less efficient chips require more cooling.

This also explains why China is keenly interested in Taiwan which is the world's leading manufacturer of these chips.

Zeihan doesn't see China as a big threat in this department. Not sure he's currently right about that or that things can't change on a dime. Ergo, they rapidly became the world's EV car leader and outside of the US run circles around Tesla (vehicle sales).
